Cookie Policy

Effective date: 23 September 2026 · Last updated: 26 September 2026

1. What this covers

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies, including browser local storage, session storage and tags, used on Nest. It applies together with our Privacy Policy.

Necessary technologies are used to make Nest work. Analytics technologies are used only if you turn them on. We do not use a cookie wall, and we do not treat scrolling or closing a message as permission.

2. Necessary — always on

  • Sign-in and session storage set by our authentication provider (keys beginning sb-), so you stay signed in and your account stays secure. Kept in your browser until you sign out or the session expires.
  • Your cookie choice record (nest_cookie_consent): the categories you chose, the time you chose them and the policy version. Kept for about six months.
  • Your saved valuation answers (pp_owner_valuation_handoff): keeps the details you entered while you move through the valuation steps, so you do not retype them. Kept for the current browsing session only and used for no other purpose.
  • Security and load-balancing technologies applied by hosting and infrastructure providers when pages are requested. These are needed to protect and deliver the service; any provider-side cookies depend on the request and the provider's practices.

3. External sign-in and billing

If you choose Google sign-in or visit Stripe checkout or the billing portal, those external services may use their own cookies in their environments. Their privacy and cookie practices apply there; Nest does not control cookies they set on their own sites.

4. Analytics — off until you turn it on

  • Usage measurement: which pages and steps are used, so we can see where the product is confusing. No measurement event is sent, and no measurement record is written on our servers, before you allow analytics.
  • Campaign attribution (pp_attribution): if you arrive from a campaign link, the campaign values from the link address, kept for the current browsing session.
  • Repeat-event suppression (pp_nest_once:…): a short marker so a single action is not counted twice in one session.
  • Sign-in measurement markers (pp_pending_auth, pp_auth_attempt_done:…): used only to tell whether a completed Google sign-in should be counted as a new registration or a return sign-in. They are not needed to sign in, and signing in works normally without them.

If you turn analytics off, these markers are removed from your browser, no further measurement events are sent, and our servers stop writing measurement records for your activity. Records we must keep for the service itself — your account, your valuation, an introduction request you submitted and the permission you gave — are separate and are not affected by this choice.

5. Advertising and marketing

We do not run advertising or marketing cookies, pixels or tags on Nest, so there is no marketing option to turn on and nothing to switch off.

We may advertise Nest through Google Ads and Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. Advertising on those platforms is not the same as tracking you on this site: it does not by itself place anything in your browser here or share your information with an advertising platform. Where we use optional advertising cookies or pixels on Nest, we will identify the active providers and purposes in this policy and request your permission before activating them. Reading this does not grant that permission, and a choice you make today does not extend to a provider or purpose added later — we will ask again.

6. Tag management

Our tag manager container loads only after you allow the relevant category, and each tag it contains is restricted to the category it needs.

7. Changing your choices

You can change your choices at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or the button below. We ask again after about 182 days, and sooner if we make a material change to the purposes or providers described here.

Rejecting optional cookies keeps all core features working, including valuations, comparisons, accounts and introduction requests. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking necessary cookies may prevent signing in.
